In the late 1930’s, one salesman, (Sid Jackson) opened sales routes into small communities within a 20-mile radius. A natural evolution of change eliminated the, then, farm economy and led Petrey into an expansion of its wholesale grocery role. The company name changed to W.L. Petrey Wholesale Co., Inc.

The business has grown steadily, now going into all contiguous states and delivering to customers on a weekly basis at points 500 mile distant. Primary customers are convenience stores. Supply lines include dry and frozen groceries, candy, health and beauty aids, deli items, tobacco products, novelty items, beverages, etc.
The company has been owned exclusively by the descendants of Luke and W.L. Petrey, (Petreys and Jacksons) to this date, a period of 107 years. |
